As we all know, Ireland has been hit by a dramatic economic crisis. Only 2 years ago, we were on top of the world with the best economic performance of nay developed country. We had transformed ourselves from the sick old man of Europe to envy of all our neighbours. Even the British were jealous!!

So what happened? And how do we get the good times back?

That’s what this blog will explain. As the blog’s sub-title suggests, I will attempt to simplify and demystify the economic theory that explains how we got here and how we can get out. I won’t limit the posts to discussion of NAMA itself  i.e. the specifics of the government’s property investment fund. I chose the title NAMA.biz because NAMA has become iconic in our culture, representing all that went wrong with the economy and our attempts to fix it.
